Barcelona's technical secretary Robert Fernandez has confirmed that Pedro has asked to leave the club but insists offers under €30 million (£21.3m) will be rejected.
Goal reported last week that Manchester United had reached an agreement to sign Pedro from the Catalan giants, but Neymar's untimely contraction of the mumps threw up an obstacle to the deal.
The 28-year-old was omitted from Barcelona's starting XI to take on Sevilla in the Uefa Super Cup and, explaining the decision, Fernandez revealed the player has made his wishes known.
"Pedro asked us for the transfer,” Fernandez confirmed, before adding: “We are not going to accept less than €30 million [his buyout clause] for him, it’s not negotiable.”
Winner of five Spanish league titles and three Champions League crowns, Pedro is one of the most decorated footballers of his generation but has rarely been a regular starter at Barcelona.
