Super Eagles Coach Sunday Oliseh Denies Selection Allegations

Newly appointed Super Eagles Coach Sunday Oliseh has
denied widespread reports claiming he has made a U-turn on the calibre of players that will feature in the Super Eagles under him.

The former Super Eagles Captain ‎had earlier revealed on the day of his unveiling that only players in top division clubs of credible leagues will henceforth be invited.

However there were reports on Tuesday that Oliseh had made a dramatic U-turn on the decision, the former Borussia Dortmund and Juventus midfielder in a swift response denied the report via his twitter account(@SundayOOliseh).

'Only 1st Division Players are eligible to play for the super Eagles. Only exceptions= U23, U20 Players & Goalkeepers! No U turn as some claim!'.

"The best players in the first division are used to a certain tempo and competition standard, and we need this tempo for the Super Eagles, that is why we made such decision."

The new Super Eagles is expected to announce his first group of players, all home based, in the first week of August ahead of the CHAN qualifiers against Burkina Faso, and a week later, a list of overseas based players ahead of the 2017 African Cup of Nations Qualifier against Tanzania.
